Healing & Art are both significant parts of my life. Like many of us, I too have experienced my fair share of trauma as a child and am still working through some of my stuff. I find art incredibly helpful and healing when it comes to transforming some of the pain. In my courses, I often include a healing element as well. Many of my students have described how some of the healing exercises are both cathartic and liberating.
I am currently running a free online art course (Art, Heart & Healing) which has a very large healing element. If you'd like to sign up to it, click HERE. (You'll be both learning many mixed media art techniques while incorporating several transformative healing exercises too).
I have found several teachings and healing approaches very helpful, here is a list of links to teachers whose methods/ teachings have really helped me work through pain and become more present:
Marshall Rosenberg (Nonviolent Communication)
Eckhart Tolle (presence practise)
Byron Katie (querying thoughts that cause pain)
Louise Hay (positive thinking & affirmations
Caroline Myss (Anatomy of the Spirit) |
