The Joy of Play: Sketch, Collage & Create
Instead of starting with a blank art journal page, we’ll begin by sketching loose contour flowers on individual scraps of paper. These are quick, playful sketches meant to help you loosen your hand and quiet that inner critic.
Once we’ve created a handful of flower sketches, we’ll collage them down into an art journal page, layering pieces together and letting the page come together naturally. I’ll share how I approach composition without overthinking it, and how working in this way can make art journaling feel lighter and more fun.
This class is all about giving yourself permission to play. Sketching on scraps takes away the fear of ruining a page and opens the door to experimentation, curiosity, and movement.
