In this session, you’ll explore making without the pressure to create meaning or arrive at a result. Instead of producing something final, we rehearse without an end goal.
Materials, gestures, and forms become a temporary testing ground: nothing has to be beautiful, finished, or true. Through a series of simple exercises, you’ll experience new ways of relating to your work.
This is a light, calm, and thoughtful session about permission, practice, and allowing things to exist before they carry weight.

About Marieke Blokland
Marieke Blokland (1980) is a visual artist, writer, designer and educator from the Netherlands with over two decades of experience in the creative industry. She began her career within the colorful mixed-media and art journaling circuit, working professionally in a major art-supply retail chain and publishing multiple books with a leading Dutch publisher.
Over time, her work has evolved from the craft sphere into a distinctly feminist, activist and autonomous artistic practice. Today, she works at the intersection of art, language and education, using art journals as her primary outlet for expression, a space where emotion, political awareness and raw honesty meet.
Marieke is the founder of Studio Bloknote, an online creative practice dedicated to expressive handwriting, mark-making and creative processes.
As a guest teacher, she brings deep industry knowledge, encouraging creators to move beyond aesthetics into a meaningful and personal creative practice.
