Finding The Face Within
In the “Finding The Face Within” session, we’ll be using inks, watercolors, gesso, and colored pencils to overcome the fear of the blank canvas by splattering down colors, and finding a face or image within the shapes we’ve created. With each layer we add, new details will emerge and our figure will start taking shape. It’s a process of discovering who or what was hiding on the canvas all along.

About Kimball Davis
Kimball Davis is a self-taught artist with a lifelong passion for creativity. Inspired by comic books, he began drawing at a young age and chose to build his skills through hands-on experience rather than formal study. Kimball spent many years working as a digital artist and colorist before transitioning to traditional art.
Five years ago, he fell in love with mixed media art, drawn to its limitless possibilities and expressive freedom. Inspired by the vibrant techniques and tools of Jane Davenport, Kimball has developed a distinctive style that blends a variety of materials and techniques.
Kimball also connects with artists around the world through his art-focused YouTube channel, where he hosts weekly livestreams. These sessions showcase his creative process and foster a supportive community of fellow artists.
Kimball is excited to bring his passion for art to the Mastering Mixed Media Classroom, sharing techniques and encouraging others to explore their creativity.
