In this mixed media portrait lesson, create a portrait of a stone women using texture and colors from a ‘stone’ of your choice or follow along with the colors Melanie uses. Melanie is an Indigenous portrait painter and will guide you gently step by step though this journal page.

Melanie Rivers, Tiyaltelwet, is an Indigenous mixed media artist. She is from the Squamish First Nation and draws from her traditional ancestry in her art and classes. She helps women learn to love their creative time so they can consistently show up for themselves and experience more joy, relaxation, and energy in their lives. She is a trained Expressive Arts Practitioner and experienced educator of 25 years. Melanie hosts a creative membership where women learn to paint nature inspired portraits. She provides gentle guidance for women so they can experience the medicines of creativity and connect to their own unique voice.
