I am on holiday in Holland (my birth country) right now in the middle of a heat wave! Friends; omg it’s hotttttt. 🥵 Luckily we brought fans! I’m super excited to be spending some time with my sweet little family and meet up with my parents and other family and friends too! 😊

Ok, so I have a new YouTube video for you today, and it’s a rather fun, colourful one! 😊
In the video, I unbox a gorgeous little travel art set I was gifted by Lightwish because apparently I can never resist tiny, portable art supplies 😉 and I also show you some of the abstract paintings I’ve been creating lately.
Abstract art and I have what you might call a complicated but loving relationship. 😂
I’m endlessly drawn to it. I love the freedom, the colours, the marks, the textures and the sense that anything might happen. But I also find it surprisingly challenging! Without a face, figure or obvious subject to guide me, I can very quickly find myself staring at the page thinking:
“Is this beautifully expressive… or have I simply made a colourful mess?” 😅 Who cares really, I LOVE colourful messes anyway! 😜
Lately, though, something has started to click.
I’ve been experimenting with a few abstract techniques that feel playful, manageable and genuinely exciting and I think my abstract skills may finally be growing up a little! I’ve been enjoying the process so much that I’m now quietly putting together a small mini-course based around some of my favourite approaches.
It isn’t quite ready to share yet, but consider this your first tiny whisper that something abstract and delicious is brewing behind the scenes. ✨
