Dear Creative Friend,
I’m so excited to share a brand new creative adventure with you! ♥️
My dear friend Effy Wild and I have launched a new monthly video series called The Fairy & The Witch; a cosy, heartfelt space where art, creativity, self-discovery, healing, and real life conversations all meet around the creative table.
Each month we’ll choose a theme that touches on something many of us wrestle with as humans – things like change, self-doubt, perfectionism, fear, courage, belonging, overwhelm, joy, and so much more.
Then, while we make art together, we’ll explore that theme through honest conversation, personal stories, laughter, curiosity, and creative play! We also have a lot of fun! 😊
Because here’s something I’ve come to believe very deeply over all my years of making art, and I know many of you feel the same way:
Creativity isn’t just about making pretty things (though it also really can be of course! 😉)
But, it truly can be:
🏡 A way home to ourselves.
♥️ A way to process emotions.
🦉 A way to hear our own wisdom.
🥹 A way to gently tend to the tender places within us.
🤩 A way to reconnect with joy, possibility, and meaning.
In our very first episode, we explore the idea of change (who, like me, finds change rather hard to deal with? hands up! 🙋🏻♀️ This girl here grits her teeth through change 😅😬).
We talk about what happens when we stop trying to transform our entire lives overnight and instead begin with tiny, manageable acts of courage. Effy leads us into a really wonderful exercise that can help us microdose our nervous systems into slowly learning that ‘change can be safe’.
I ended up creating a painting that was definitely outside of my comfort zone (which was the small change challenge we set ourselves), but I ended up loving it nonetheless!
You’ll get to watch two very different artists create side by side, compare approaches, share stories, and wander down all sorts of wonderfully unexpected conversational paths.
So pull up a chair, grab a cuppa and your art supplies, and come watch The Fairy & The Witch.
