Something to make you smile

By Tamara Laporte  |   in art journal  | Tags: art musings , art journal , tamara laporte , Willowing Arts

News and Inspiration in September! ♥️

I had SO much fun creating this painting. He makes me smile every time I look at him! 😍😍😍  What do you think of this adorable baby panda? Doesn’t he just make you want to give him a giant squishy hug? 😊

As many of you already know, I have a deep passion for painting animals. Working with ‘animal medicine’ can be incredibly powerful and inspiring. I have a special affinity for creating art featuring innocent and youthful animals. This goes beyond their sheer cuteness; it also serves as a profound connection to moments from my childhood when I needed that beautiful unconditional kind of love, acceptance and joy that only baby animals could offer. Painting these creatures serves as a healing experience on multiple levels for me. It allows me to immerse myself in an energy free from the burdens of stress, pain, and the daily challenges of life.

Would you like to paint a badorable panda too? 🐼 ♥️ You can! With me, on the Life Book 2024 Taster Sessions. And yes: it is free.

Been working on this new abstract spread! Not sure if it’s finished yet but love where it’s now and the colour scheme = ♥️. I struggle with abstract art but love looking at it! Do you find abstracts harder or easier to make compared to paintings with clear subjects?

A therapist once told me that she didn’t think I ‘would’ve made it’ had I not had art in my life. Not sure how helpful it was of her to say that and not sure if that was a correct assessment, but it tells you 2 things: 1. She was struck by the trauma I have experienced and 2. She was aware how powerful making art can be. It is also why I love the attached cartoon so much! 😊
