Most of us are kind, caring and loving to others, but few of us grant ourselves the same care, love and kindness that we give to those we love.
So on Valentine’s Day each year I like to invite my wonderful creative friends, to deepen their relationship with themselves and remind you to make time for self-care, self love and self-appreciation.
Treating yourself with anything less than gentle kindness, compassion, empathy and understanding can have all sorts of negative impacts on your mental health, self esteem and general wellbeing. Self love and self care might seem frivolous or unnecessary, but these practices can have a profound impact on your mental health and general wellbeing.
So what does “self love” look like you may wonder?
Well, this area is vast of course and depending on what you’ve experienced in life, self love can look like all sorts of things; from doing deep trauma work with a therapist & to setting strong boundaries to making time for yourself to do fun things, making self gratitude lists and having a nice bath once in a while amongst other things.
The key is to treat yourself like
you treat someone else you love deeply.
