Owl Odyssey

This lesson was first published as part of Watercolour Wildlife 2023 and is now available as a stand alone class! Come join me, Tam to create a beautiful sea turtle in expressive watercolour paints!

We will be creating a beautiful Owl in Flight! You’ll learn how to capture the grace and fluidity of the bird’s movement in watercolours and acrylic inks. This magnificent creature exudes a sense of wisdom, grace, and strength. I love painting owls as they are often associated with intuition, mystery, and freedom. We’ll be painting loosely and expressively with watercolour paints and acrylic inks and get in touch with our playful selves as we get to know our supplies and subject matter.

Soooo, my next class will be learning how to paint Soooo, my next class will be learning how to paint "expressive soul portraits" (omg so excited about this!) and currently editing the videos and LOVED this shot of one of the portraits mid-way. What I love about this way of working is that you can get all your raw emotions out and just make crazy messes to help facilitate all of the stuff that is going on for you and then you come out of the process refreshed and renewed and sometimes (not always) with an emotive, beautiful outcome, too! 😊 Check out all the layers and textures in this. Think at this point, it's about 30% into the painting process. It goes through a lot more transformation before it's finished.
