Hello groovy creative friends! :)
Fun times ahead! I’m going to be part of ‘The Art of Sisterhood’ lead by the fabulous Kara Bullock! :) I’m excited about this course! The theme is ‘Rise Above – Shine Your Light’! We we will look at how we overcame struggles in our lives and how we ‘rose above’ them and create art with that theme too! :)
The course focuses on spreading our light in the hopes that others will stand up and shine theirs too! The creative guides in this class will share their own personal stories, and a mixed media project. These projects will encourage you to think about your own life experiences, and give you ideas on how you can brighten up your own life, and the lives of others. We will not only be creating, but also you will have weekly challenges that you can participate in, to bring more positivity and light to your own personal community!

This is my class description for this class:
Whenever I have faced challenges in my life, I have found that a compassionate response to my ‘inner experiences’ has been the most powerful response for ‘rising above and healing from’ those challenges. For my lesson today I will demonstrate how I create a whimsical / stylised character that has overcome hurdles and struggles in life by allowing empathy, kindness and love to be her allies. We will work with symbolism, mark making and animal imagery to illustrate the transformation from struggle to shine.
