Moon Children to Inspire You. <3

By Tamara Laporte  |   in love notes  | Tags: note to inspire , willowing

A note to inspire :)

Hello wonderful friend!

Here is the 2nd ‘Inspiration Email’ in the series! I enjoy prepping these emails for you. I hope the content inspires you and that you’ll share some of your work in the Willowing & Friends Group on Facebook! :)

Ps. Follow me on instagram for most up to date artsy endeavours & inspiration!

Big hugs,
Tam x

Sometimes paintings are a struggle. Sometimes I throw them away or gesso over them. Sometimes I persist, don’t give up on them and they turn into one of my most liked images on instagram! I thought this was a brilliant metaphor for some of life’s experiences!

I filmed ‘the making of Moon Children’ and did a voice over telling you about the process.

Check it out.

Continuing the theme of Poetry & Art:

Stay close.
She said.
I am winter.
I do not mean
to make you cold.
This.
This is a purification.
This is a cleansing.
I am here for you.
I am here with you.

You are whole.

If you have made or make any art inspired by your own poetry or vice versa, we’d love to see it in the Willowing & Friends Group! :)

Join the Monthly ATC Swap

We are running the monthly ATC Swap in the Willowing & Friends Facebook Group! Many of you have loved swapping your mini art with others, so we are continuing this fun monthly event in the Willowing & Friends Facebook Group. If you’d like to join the ATC Swaps, you’ll need to be a member of the W&F FB group(pls bear with us while we manually approve new members). The theme for May is ‘Magic and Sparkle‘ – if you want to join, please first join the group and then join the swap HERE. Please only join the swaps if you’re able to commit. It can be upsetting for your partner if they have sent out ATC but don’t get any in return. Thanks for understanding!

Roben-Marie Smith Interview and Giveaway!

The wonderful Roben-Marie Smith is giving away a spot on her new workshop: ‘SALVAGED: A Layered Pieces Journal’ on the blog over HERE.

This song has been on repeat for the last 3 weeks or so. It`s so achingly beautiful and heart breaking, had to record my own version of it! I love harmonising with myself. Playing the piano and using a mic however, meant that it overwhelmed the voice a bit, will do that differently next time. ♥️♥️♥️ Best listened to on headphones.
The song is by `Novo Amor`. Here are the lyrics:
"Repeat Until Death"
Low, a part of me now
A palm to my mouth
I said it, almost
Snow, brother, I`ll bet it all gold
Shudder with blood in my nose
I had it almost
Don`t go, you`re half of me now
But I`m hardly stood proud
I said it almost
Oh, I`ve been low
But dammit, I bet it don`t show
It was heaven a moment ago
Oh, I had it almost
We had it almost
Oh, I can`t seem to let myself leave you
But I can`t breathe anymore
Oh, I can`t seem to not need to need you
I can`t breathe anymore
♥️

I had discarded this journal spread a while ago as “not good enough” and now I’m like: “heh? I really love this!” So funny how your own view of your own art can change so much after a while. Not finished yet but I like it as it is. 😊

Looking at more old journal pages! These are from around 2016/17 I think! 😊 The ‘one word’ thing has always been there for me. What I do when journalling; I draw/ paint/ scribble and then usually there is some kind of overwhelming emotional state that can be summarised or reflected in one word, so you often see words like: ‘open’, ‘stay’, ‘compassion’, ‘surrender’ on my journal pages. Like messages/ reflections from ‘my higher’ self. 😊
